Description
letterpress; verso = Spanish text.
Map from Miguel Seguí’s renowed Enciclopedia Ilustrada Seguí, by Centro Editorial Artistico in Barcelona. From 1897 to 1907, Centro Editorial Artistico published the art and literary magazine Album Salon…, the first Spanish magazine illustrated in colour, and from 1909, the Enciclopedia Ilustrada Segui.
This detailed plate features the island province of Bohol alongside an inset map of Siquijor (Los Fuegos), utilising fine hachuring to represent interior elevation and hill formations. It reflects Seguí’s systematic approach to illustrating the distinct island geography of the Visayas.
