Map from Miguel Seguí’s renowed Enciclopedia Ilustrada Seguí, by Centro Editorial Artistico in Barcelona. From 1897 to 1907, Centro Editorial Artistico published the art and literary magazine Album Salon…, the first Spanish magazine illustrated in colour, and from 1909, the Enciclopedia Ilustrada Segui.

Focusing on the mountainous interior of northern Luzon, this map highlights early highland settlements, including Baguio and Trinidad, nestled amongst the surrounding river systems. It captures the rugged topography of the Cordillera region just as modern infrastructure was beginning to take shape.
