Description

hand-coloured copper engraving. EXTREMELY RARE

The very special map 117 from the 2 volumes in folio size “The Complete East India Pilot or Oriental Navigator”, printed by Robert Laurie and James Whittle in 1798 and published in London, 1800.
An almost impossible to find British map based on Malaspina’s improved findings over the earlier French ‘Neptune Oriental’ based on D’Après de Mannevillette. It is only the third time in 30 years we encounter this map in the trade and outside of institutions. A true collector’s gem.

Condition
