Palacio De Memoria

ABOUT THE PALACIO

Built in the 1930s during the American colonial period and originally a two-floor Colonial Reviva-style house on a 1.3-hectare property attributed to Antonio Zobel-Melian of El Hogar. The concrete house surprisingly survived the tragic Battle of Manila. After the war, the property was acquired by Dr. Francisco Villaroman Sr., adding five floors and a tower to accommodate his growing family, and hold space for his medical practice. Interiors were redone in Filipino art deco style, but exteriors were kept to Spanish Colonial Revival. By restoration from 2015 to 2018 and adaptive reuse by its current owners, the Lhuillier family, the house is now used as arts and events center, including venue rental spaces, a museum, auction house, café, and retail stores for international art and antiques.
