Description

453pp., soft bound, 3 illustrated maps. First paperback edition. RARE.

Based largely on archival sources, this scholarly book documents the Manila galleons, i.e., the Spanish trading ships that crossed the Pacific Ocean from Acapulco, Mexico to Manila, Philippines (and back) from 1565 to 1815. Originally published in 1939, and reissued in 1959 (in pocketbook format), this is the definitive work on its subject, spanning 250 years of history. The book is very much in demand by treasure hunters in that it documents each of the Manila galleons lost.

Condition

shows indication of moderate use, with stamp on front end paper, a few tiny dog ears, corners bumped, otherwise excellent condition.
