Description

bound in hardbound case, with foredge ties, with 170 original-colour lithographs (laminas). EXTREMELY RARE. Very difficult to find atlas tome 14, published by Imprenta de Don Luis Aguado, Madrid. The coloured lithographs are of excellent quality and present the most extensive and comprehensive malacological summary of the Philippines. Malacology is the branch of invertebrate zoology that deals with the study of the Mollusca (mollusks or molluscs), the second-largest phylum of animals in terms of described species after the arthropods. Mollusks include snails and slugs, clams, and cephalopods, along with numerous other kinds, many of which have shells. Malacology derives from Ancient Greek μαλακός (malakós) ‘soft’, and -λογία (-logía).

Condition
