Description

xviii + 168pp, hardbound in original blue cloth, with 12 plates in black & white, EXTREMELY RARE. This is the ORIGINAL – not a later reprint. A massive catalogue, listing and describing the ethnographical collection as then present in the Dutch National Museum of Anthropology and Ethnology, including 12 excellent plates. Hendrik Herman Juynboll (1867-1945) was a Dutch Indologist and museum director. Under his directorship, a 23-volume, monumental catalog of the museum’s Indonesian and Philippine collection was published between 1909 and 1932, probably one of the most extensive descriptive catalogues of a museum’s holdings ever.

Condition

ex-library with usual markings, otherwise very good.
